Radio Frequency Transmitter

The Pro-Tracker® Radio Frequency Transmitter Alpha is a rechargeable, lightweight, water resistant transmitter that disengages from the arrow upon impact; not affecting penetration and allowing for pass-throughs. The transmitter hooks into the animal’s hide and begins sending Radio Frequency (RF) signals every three seconds for the duration of the battery life (18-20 hours). Product Questions

Question:

How does Pro-Tracker® work with your bow hunt?

Answer:

The Pro-Tracker® System consists of three components:

  •   An 7075 Aluminum Carrier that screws into your arrow and holds the transmitter

  •   A Transmitter (w/a barbed hook) attaches to the animal when it is hit with the arrow & emits a radio signal after it is ejected from the arrow.

  •   A Receiver that tracks the transmitters radio signal once it attaches to the animal.

These three work together with your tracking skills to recover your animal faster after the shot.

Question:

How much weight does it add to my arrow?

Answer:

The 7075 Aluminum Carrier and Transmitter weigh 100 grains. It’s groundbreaking design screws into the shaft, keeping the majority of the mass in the center of the arrow at the front of the shaft. The added weight gives the arrow more kinetic energy to penetrate deeper into your animal. Its location also helps keep the arrow balanced and allows the arrow to rotate to keep your shot true to your target. When your bow is drawn the carrier raises the arrow about 2 mm to help compensate for the additional weight. The system comes with a practice dummy transmitter so you can make sure you’re pins are set correctly to be accurate with the system, you will not be disappointed accuracy of the system.

Question:

How does the Receiver work?

Answer:

The Receiver has a digital display that tells you how far away the transmitter is, what number transmitter you are following, the time of day, how long you have been tracking the animal and the battery life of the receiver.  You are able to program 6 different transmitter numbers into it, making it a system that can be shared by the whole family or with your hunting buddies. The display is easily read in the daytime and has a backlit display that can be turned on at night to track that last minute giant buck that emerges from the trees at dusk. Nothing more fun than tracking your animal in the pitch black woods!

Question:

How does the Transmitter connect to the Aluminum Carrier?

Answer:

The Pro-Tracker® System uses a plastic Shear Pin system to connect the Transmitter & Aluminum Carrier together. The Transmitter stays secure in the Aluminum Carrier when the arrow is released and the Shear Pin connection is broken when the arrow impacts with your animal. It only takes the impact of hitting your target to break the shear pin connection.

Question:

Does Pro-Tracker® work with crossbows?

Answer:

Yes it does. But the velocity at which crossbows shoot bolts creates a g-force that strains the shear pin connection. Therefore, if you are using Pro-Tracker® with your crossbow, we give you a set of Crossbow Secure Bands that help hold the Transmitter in place. This way the transmitter stays connected until impacting your animal.

Question:

How is the transmitter powered and how long is the battery life?

Answer:

The Transmitter is rechargeable and it’s charger uses a USB cable for power just like your cell phone. While the Transmitter is connected to the carrier it uses no power until it is attached to the animal. Once it is attached to the animal it has 18-20 hours of battery life in order for you to find and recover your animal. Plenty of time to do what you need to do.

Question:

Is it a GPS/Bluetooth?

Answer:

We decided to use Radio Frequencies in our Transmitters for a number of reasons. First is the varying terrain that hunters encounter in the wild sometimes does not lend itself to finding enough satellites to bounce the location off of for GPS. Second, the battery size needed to power a GPS system is too big to fit inside of our transmitter and weighs more than the one we use for our Radio Frequency Devices. Bluetooth devices have a very limited range. A bluetooth device has a maximum range of 50 yards while with radio frequency we have a range of 2 miles. That is over 70 times the distance.

Question:

Why is the hook so big?

Answer:

It works. After thorough testing we have determined it is what is needed to hold up with the impact. It gives use the most accuracy with the most durability. Better big than losing a wounded animal.

Question:

How does the transmitter affect the flight of my arrow?

Answer:

It flies exactly where your pin is set up. The flight is great and the accuracy is spot on. Many of our customers have called to personally tell us how pleasantly surprised they were that the flight isn’t affected by the transmitter with carrier. The dummy is great for practicing.

Such a great product!!

These Bad Boys have really impressed me. I used the 62 grain collars for my 2022 season and had great results with a pass through on both a mule deer and an elk. They are tough as nails and fly great!

I have tested each weight available out to 30 yards and they all group within 2 inches of each other. That is so incredible for the dramatic change in FOC and arrow weight.

You will not regret using these Bad Boys with your arrow set up.

I got my hands on the 3k Carbon Weave arrows right before my mule deer hunt. After building my arrows and making sure my bow was tuned I went to the range. They flew great, grouped well, and gave me immediate confidence.

I had a passthrough on a mule deer at 62 yards and an elk at 44 yards. These arrows are awesome! Definitely recommend!!!

Best arrows I’ve shot

I bought these arrows this year. These are the best shooting, toughest arrows I have ever shot. They fly amazing. I have been shooting all year out to 100 yards and they are grouping the best out of any arrow I have been shooting. So when it was time to hunt my Utah mule deer these where the arrows in my quiver and man did they perform. I was able to harvest a mature high country Muley with these arrows with a complete pass through. He didn’t go more that 30 yards.

I liked the idea of being able to remove it if I’m not wanting to use it,then putting it back on easily and or change out to a different weight. Instead of glue in inserts.
